Privacy Policy

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, the trustees of The Sir James Reckitt Charity are committed to safeguarding the privacy of those who submit grant applications to us and those who we support with grants.

Any information sent to the Charity, whether it be documentation as part of an appeal for a one-off grant, or documentation in support of a longer term or annual grant, will only be used for those purposes and nothing else.

Any information sent to the Charity as part of appeal documentation for a one-off grant will be retained for a maximum of two years to comply with the Charity's two year rule for repeat applications. It will then be destroyed. Thereafter, all that will be retained will be a bare computer record of any grant made.

Any contact details held by the Charity from organisations in receipt of a longer term grant are stored electronically to facilitate further grant payments. Annual reports and correspondence relating to these longer term grants will be retained for reference purposes and only for the duration of the grant. They will then be destroyed leaving only a bare computer record of the grants made.

None of the information and contact details held by the Charity referred to above will be passed on to third parties.

Whenever information is sent to The Sir James Reckitt Charity in support of an appeal or a grant, the trustees will assume that it is given with consent and with understanding that it will be used for that purpose only and will be handled as described in this privacy policy statement.

The Sir James Reckitt Charity affirms your right of access to the information being held about you or your organisation free of charge. You have the right to have it rectified if incorrect and deleted altogether if you withdraw your consent. In either case you should contact the Charity's administrator.
